About the work

Rock and river-two outlook on life. The movement of water and stillness of the rocks always fascinated me as a kid. The fact that there is room for both,  and both of them work together. Water found its way around every obstacle (rock) that is in its way. The rock is locked in place, unmoved by the forces of others. The river is fluid, able to bend around obstacles and find openings. It is a natural flow. Dripping water eventually hallows out the rock, not through force but persistence! In this piece you see various type of the rocks that come alive in 3D in a natural light and you can almost feel them coming throughout the canvas. There are many details and how light flows over part of the rocks based on their location. I painted this out of my own imagination.
